WNYC and WQXR are on a quest to find the best up-and-coming musicians in the New York City. Their Battle of Boroughs will pit bands from each borough against each other for a chance to compete in the final Ultimate Battle of the Boroughs. On Friday, March 6, one of our favorite Brooklyn bands, Teletextile will be one of the acts representing the fair county of Kings in the Battle’s Brooklyn edition.
Brooklyn Battle Contestants:
Brian Bonz & the Major Crimes (Indie, Alternative)
Company of Selves (Rock)
Cool Company (Pop)
Isaac Sawyer (Hip-Hop)
The Nat Osborn Band (Indie, Pop, Soul, Funk)
Roberto Poveda (World Latin)
Teletextile (Orchestral Indie Rock)
Hear great music and inspiring stories, then vote for the act you want to represent the borough in the Ultimate Battle. Emceed by WQXR’s Terrance McKnight, contestants get the opportunity to hear feedback from an award-winning panel of artists and producers including vocalist and Q2 Music host Helga Davis, and producer of the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival Wes Jackson, who will serve as judges.
